The auto-reload feature of the EasyPost Wallet simplifies wallet management by automatically transferring funds when a minimum balance is met. This guide explains how to manage auto-reload settings and addresses common questions about the process.
Wallet Auto-Reload Funding
Wallet Auto Reload funds the EasyPost Wallet automatically when the balance drops below a specified amount. This feature is required for transactions through EasyPost Carrier Accounts, such as USPS, or when purchasing shipping insurance and label add-ons.
The wallet can be initially funded through connected payment methods. After the first funding, the auto-reload feature ensures sufficient wallet balance by transferring funds from a payment method when the minimum balance is reached. Users can set preferences for the minimum balance and reload amount.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Log in to the EasyPost Dashboard.
- Navigate to Account Settings > Billing within the left menu.
- In the Wallet Settings panel, click on the three-dot button and select Adjust Settings.

- Select the desired reload amount from the dropdown menu.

- Click Update to save changes.
Best Practices for Auto-Reload Settings
Using Bank Payment Methods
Bank transfers may take up to five days to process. To avoid running out of funds during this period:
- Set the auto-reload trigger to cover at least five days' worth of shipping volume.
Example: If daily spending is $20, set the trigger to a balance of $100 or higher. - Set the reload amount to at least 10 days' worth of funds.
Example: For $20 daily spending, set the reload amount to $200.
FAQs
Examples of Auto Reload Settings
- Scenario 1: Setting a $0 minimum balance and a $20 reload amount results in $20 being added when the balance reaches $0.
- Scenario 2: Setting a $5,000 minimum balance and a $10,000 reload amount results in $10,000 being added when the balance reaches $5,000 or below.
Note: The reload amount cannot be less than the minimum balance. For instance, a $5,000 minimum balance and a $2,500 reload amount are not supported.
Opting Out of Auto-Reload
Auto-reload is required for all EasyPost Wallets. Preferences can be adjusted to minimize triggers by setting the minimum balance to $0 and the reload amount to the lowest permissible value ($20).
