How does SmartRate support the Create Label Tool?
All carrier and service level options are assessed by the SmartRate API and evaluated for which carrier/service level option is historically the fastest and which one is the best, based on SmartRates' predictions. The best and fastest options are then displayed on the Carrier & Service tab of the tool.
How does EasyPost define 'best' and 'fastest'?
- Best: This is the lowest cost label that can get to your recipient with your preferred delivery speed.
- Fastest: Shortest time in transit, per SmartRate's predictions.
How do users set their Preferred Delivery Speed?
From the EasyPost Dashboard:
- Select Shipping Settings, then click on the Purchasing Automation tab
- Using the Preferred Delivery Speed drop down, select a preferred delivery time for packages to spend in transit.
- Save your preference with the SAVE button
That's it! When creating labels through the Create Label tool, EasyPost will calculate the transit speeds for all service options available to you, and recommend the "Best" rate that will arrive within your delivery speed preference.
What does 'Days in Transit' mean?
Days in Transit are the number of days that 95% of packages are predicted to arrive within once being passed over to the carrier's network via a dropoff or scheduled pick up. The days in transit will account for weekends and holidays.
What is 'Estimated Delivery Date'?
Estimated Delivery Date is the date that the package will most likely arrive on.
Is this available for shipping labels for all addresses?
No, this feature is currently supported for shipping labels within the United States.
