Upon sign-up with EasyPost, users gain immediate access to Default Carrier Accounts, which can be enabled directly from the Dashboard. For additional carriers, EasyPost supports a Bring Your Own Account (BYOA) option. This requires users to register directly with the respective carrier. This article outlines the steps to integrate BYOA accounts through the EasyPost Dashboard.
EasyPost Account Registration
Sign up for an EasyPost account to obtain a Test and Production API Key. See Authentication and Key Management for more information.
Shipper Account Registration
- Contact the desired carrier to request a shipper account.
- Inform the carrier about using EasyPost's API for label purchases.
- Obtain rates from the carrier in the preferred format (table or API) and address any additional shipping needs.
Bring Your Own Carrier Account
- Log in to EasyPost and navigate to Account Settings.
- Select the Carriers tab.
- Select Add Carrier.
- Find and select the desired carrier to connect. If it is not listed, contact Support.
- Enter the carrier credentials obtained during account registration and click Create.
If the provided credentials are verified as valid by the carrier's system, the carrier account will be immediately activated for shipping.
The My Carrier Accounts tab allows for viewing and management of connected carrier accounts.
