Overview
This guide describes how to create and authorize a USPS Ship Wallet account using the EasyPost Dashboard.
USPS Ship Wallet accounts are enabled in the Dashboard using different URLs depending on the account type. The setup flow is the same after the account is enabled.
Prerequisites
USPS must configure the NSA rates within an Enterprise Payment Account (EPA). Please verify that this has been completed with a USPS representative. The following is also required:
- USPS Business Customer Gateway (BCG) login
- Enterprise Payment Account (EPA)
- Customer Registration ID (CRID)
- Mailer ID (MID)
- Manifest MID
- Returns MID
- NSA Contract Number
Enable USPS Ship Wallet in the Dashboard
Use the appropriate link below to display the USPS Ship account in the EasyPost Dashboard:

Create a USPS Ship Wallet Account
- Log in to the EasyPost Dashboard.
- Navigate Account Settings > Carriers.
- Select the EasyPost Wallet Carriers button.
- Enable USPS Ship Wallet in the EasyPost Dashboard. See Enable USPS Ship Wallet in the Dashboard above and use the appropriate link for the account type.
- Click on Create Account on the USPS Ship Account.
- Optionally, enter a Description or Reference and select Save and Connect.
Complete USPS Authorization
- Sign in with a Business Customer Gateway User Name and Password:
- Review the authorization request and grant access.
- Locate the following identifiers:
- Customer Registration ID (CRID)
- EPS (sometimes called EPA) Account number
- Master/Manifest ID
- Mailer ID.
- Record these values (they will be required in a later step).
- Agree to the Terms of Service and click Authorize and Continue.
Update the Carrier Account
- Return to the EasyPost Dashboard.
- Scroll to the USPS Ship Account and click the three dots next to it and Edit account.
- Enter the EPS (EPA), CRID, Mailer ID, and Manifest (Master) ID values. Note: the Mailer ID and Manifest ID are often the same number.
- USPS Ship Account number = EPS/EPA Account Number
- USPS Ship Account Customer Registration ID = CRID
- USPS Mailer ID = Mailer ID/MID
- USPS Manifest ID (Optional) = “Master” MID
- USPS Ship Returns ID (Optional) = Returns MID
- USPS Ship Secondary Account Number (Optional) = Platform EPA; not applicable to all users
Optional Fields - USPS Ship Manifest ID (Master MID): Used when manifesting shipments. If not provided, the Mailer ID is used by default.
- USPS Ship Returns Mailer ID: Used to generate return labels with a different MID than outbound shipments. If not provided, the Mailer ID is used by default.
- USPS Ship Secondary Account Number: Optional EPA used for additional rate visibility during rating. This does not affect pricing. For example, platforms using both an EPA and an MRC EPA can expose both rates in the same response. When provided, the associated EPA rate is mapped to
rate.list_rate. If not provided,rate.list_ratedefaults to the commercial rate.
Note: The Mailer ID and Manifest ID are often the same value.
- Click Save.
