Rate Reporting and Pricing Visibility
When Forge FlexRate is enabled, applied pricing adjustments are reflected in analytics and reporting views.
Displayed rates represent the adjusted customer-facing rate rather than the underlying carrier base rate.
Reporting fields may include:
-
base_rate: Original carrier rate -
adjusted_rate: Rate presented to the sub-account after pricing adjustments.
The underlying rate object remains unchanged in the response. The adjusted_rate field is included in addition to the original carrier rate.
This distinction is important for pricing validation, margin analysis, and reconciliation workflows.
Where margin or delta reporting is available, values represent the difference between the carrier rate and the adjusted customer-facing rate.
When Sub Accounts access dashboards and analytics through Customer Portals or embedded reporting views, displayed rates reflect the same adjusted pricing logic configured in Forge FlexRate.
Advanced Shipping relies on the same pricing logic. Rates displayed in Advanced Shipping reflect applied FlexRate adjustments.
Refer to the Forge FlexRate (Rate Adjustments) article for configuration details.
Best Practices
- Review parcel volume and spend trends regularly to validate pricing strategy.
- Monitor API error rates to detect integration issues early.
- Monitor sub-account activity when operating under the Centralized option.
- Validate adjusted rates after FlexRate configuration changes.
