What is Covered
EasyPost Insurance covers shipments from almost anywhere to almost anywhere. We cover lost, damaged, or stolen packages that have EasyPost Insurance purchased for up to $5,000. How to Purchase
You can purchase EasyPost Insurance on both your labels created through EasyPost or outside of EasyPost through the Shipment Buy or Insure endpoints. For labels created through EasyPost with Insurance added, your package is immediately insured - there is no possibility of rejection based on tracking information, as the package was just created. On the other hand, EasyPost Insurance purchased on shipments purchased outside of EasyPost (Standalone insurance) requires creation with a tracking code so that EasyPost may confirm the package existence and current shipping status at the time of purchase.

Filing a Claim
To file an EasyPost Insurance Claim, please go to this link here and fill out the required fields. Once submitted, your claim will be processed by our Claims Support Team, who will confirm receiving of your claim within 1 business day of creation.
During the processing of your claim, the Claims Support Team may ask for additional information or documentation if the required information is not provided upon submitting the claim.
Checking Claim Status
We process claims within 48 hours of receiving all relevant documentation and payments are made within 10 business days. Just reach out to us at email@example.com and we’ll provide you with an update quickly.
If a shipment with EasyPost insurance is refunded, the insurance fee will be refunded as well. EasyPost does not offer any direct refunds on insurance.
