This account enables small businesses to access FedEx's reliable shipping services without needing a separate FedEx account and offers reduced costs. The discounted rates are absolutely free and do not require volume minimums, contracts, or additional fees. Discounts on select surcharges are also included.
Service Levels and Coverage Area
This account includes discounted service levels for U.S. domestic and export*. For more information about these service levels, see Save with FedEx through EasyPost.
When using the EasyPost FedEx Default Account, billing is done directly through EasyPost, and label fees are deducted from the EasyPost wallet. To purchase labels with this account in the production environment, sufficient funds must be present in the wallet to cover the cost of the label.
Upon purchasing labels and shipping parcels, if any price adjustments occur afterward, EasyPost will adjust the final amount deducted from the wallet.
Fees and Surcharges
FedEx Ground® Economy shipments may incur a USPS Non-Machinable fee of $5.70. Shipments are designated non-machinable if they meet the following criteria:
Any item with one dimension measuring more than 27 inches.
Any item with any two dimensions, each measuring more than 17 inches.
FedEx pickup requests can be made via the EasyPost API. Review the Pickups documentation for details. Users can also drop off packages at one of FedEx's convenient drop-off locations.

Account and Eligibility
New and existing EasyPost users are eligible to receive the FedEx discounted rates.
No, you do not need to create a FedEx account.
The discounted FedEx rates will appear when you are purchasing a label through the EasyPost API or logged in experience through our UI Dashboard. If you already have your own FedEx account, you will see your own account rates as well as the Platform Account rates when you are purchasing a label.

At the moment, package pickup is not available through FedEx Platform Account via EasyPost API. Shippers with existing FedEx accounts can schedule pickups with their separate account.
You can drop off packages at a FedEx Office or at a certified FedEx drop-off location (e.g. Dollar General). There are over 59,000 FedEx locations to choose from, so dropping off packages and beginning the delivery process is easy and convenient!
FedEx's Hold at Location service is available for FedEx International Connect Plus (FICP) shipments only. It is not available for FedEx Ground Economy (FGE) shipments.

Claims must be filed within 90 days of shipment delivery for damaged or missing contents. 21 days for international shipments.
The default liability is $100. Customers can purchase additional liability, based on the value of the shipment
A claims payout time frame will close out within 4-6 weeks.
